Packing A Rental Truck
Have you ever sat down and thought about what your goal is when you are packing for a move? Is it just to get the stuff moved from the old place to the new place? Or would you also like to be able to find the stuff you need, streamline unpacking, and be able to live comfortably even if you don’t get all the boxes from the rental truck unpacked for a few weeks? Here are a few tips for packing a rental truck for a move. {I am able to update changes} First, don’t underestimate the power of your magic marker! Plan on labeling every box clearly, and then plan on packing them into the rental truck so that the label shows. When packing rentals vans and trucks, it is essential to think ahead, too. Remember that the first things you pack will be the last ones to come off the rental truck. Also, the last thing you pack will probably be the first one you unload. Have a box or two that you reserve just for those things you will need immediately upon arriving at the new home. This box can include a change of clothes, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, some food, and just whatever you will likely need quickly. Label this something like "Pack last, unload first." Then, while packing, make sure your essential items get put in this box. Then follow through and pack it last into the rental truck. For the rest of your stuff, label the boxes according to the rooms the items came from and will need to go to. Keep your kitchen things together in boxes and label them "kitchen." Do the same for your bathroom, living room, and other rooms. The beauty of this way of packing rentals vans and trucks is that you can unpack these boxes and take them directly to the right place in the new home! This simplifies unpacking a rental truck. Even if you’re getting help from friends, packing like this makes sense and really won’t require much extra work from them. It will save you lots of effort, though, when unpacking the rental truck. For best results, have the boxes packed before you get your friends to start loading the rental truck. That way, all they need to remember to do is to save out that "Pack last" box (or boxes) and load it last into the rentals vans or truck. Packing to find your stuff again will make your experience moving with a rental truck much more efficient and enjoyable.
